THE STORAGE DECADE
The U.S. energy storage industry is passing an inflection point, with the first GW installation year on record and set to jump an order of magnitude in coming years. U.S. public policy is increasingly focused on decarbonizing the economy while sustaining economic recovery that drives innovation, manufacturing, and sustainable growth. Storage is also at the center of the twin trends of greater electrification of the economy and increased resilience for the power system. Our industry members have never had more opportunities ahead, with 100 gigawatts of energy storage by 2030 an aspiration in view. Continued rising investment in storage deployments will be complemented by new investments in energy storage supply chains and technology innovation investments, establishing a major new U.S. industrial sector. 2021 is the beginning of a new decade for energy storage.
The U.S. Energy Storage Association (ESA) two-part Annual Conference & Expo will convene stakeholders throughout the energy storage ecosystem for a series of events in 2021. Attendees will learn from industry insights, opportunities, and successes at the Virtual #ESACon21 on April 21-22. In December, #ESACon21 will bring together the industry in Phoenix, Arizona (December 1-3) to develop meaningful business relationships to drive investment, sales and strategic partnerships to accelerate the energy storage market.
